This is the strongest of bonds, in which Allah (SWT) unites the two Muslim partners, who come together on the basis of love, understanding, co-operation and mutual advice, and establish a Muslim family in which children will live and grow up, and they will develop the good character and behaviour taught by Islam. The Muslim family is the strongest component of a Muslim society when its members are productive and constructive, helping and encouraging one another to be good and righteous, and competing with one another in good works.The righteous woman is the pillar, cornerstone and foundation of the Muslim family. She is seen as the greatest joy in a man’s life, as the Prophet (PBUH) said:
“This world is just temporary conveniences, and the best comfort in this world is a righteous women.”1
A righteous woman is the greatest blessing that Allah (SWT) can give to a man, for with her he can find comfort and rest after the exhausting struggle of earning a living. With his wife, he can find incomparable tranquillity and pleasure.How can a woman be the best comfort in this world? How can she be a successful woman, true to her own femininity, and honoured and loved? This is what will be explained in the following pages:
She chooses a good husband
One of the ways in which Islam has honoured woman is by giving her the right to choose her husband. Her parents have no right to force her to marry someone she dislikes. The Muslim woman knows this right, but she does not reject the advice and guidance of her parents when a potential suitor comes along, because they have her best interests at heart, and they have more experience of life and people. At the same time, she does not forego this right because of her father’s wishes that may make him force his daughter into a marriage with someone she dislikes

Born in 1951 in Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan, Y.A Bhg. Datin Paduka Seri Rosmah Mansor received early education at the premier girls school Tunku Khursiah College. Family members recall her academic prowess in the school where she was often, if not always, top of her class. She was not simple another academic high achiever but also an active participant in school activities such as sports, preferring sporting pursuits like badminton, hockey and netball. The all rounder also dubbed in performing arts like singing, dancing and acting.

She went on to further her studies at the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, where she obtained her B.A (Hons) in Anthropology and Sociology. Upon graduation she joined Bank Pertanian Malaysia as an executive in 1975. Keen on further improving herself academically, she enrolled into a post- graduate program at Louisiana State University, USA and graduated with Master of Science (MSC) majoring in sociology and Agriculture Extension.Upon returning to Malaysia in 1983 , she joined Island and Peninsular Berhad where she was a Business Development Manager for five years before deciding in 1997 to devote more time towards supporting her husband , Deputy Prime Minister Malaysia , Y.A.B Dato’ Seri Najib Tun Razak’s political career . All this while she juggles her household responsibilities as well as educating and raising their children.

Why on earth would Rosmah want to get her hands dirty or worse, ruin her heels that would dig into the mud near a water catchment area?
She’s an educated lady with some class. Just look her every day in the papers.She looks flawless in every picture. From programme launches to hospital visits, look at her perfectly fluffed hair, smooth complexion and those eyes. Such a cheeky, devilish glare she has!
An outspoken First Lady
Most recently, a series of videos have been making its round about Rosmah and how she has forsaken her family members and her kampung. The video carried interviews with her adopted brother, neighbours and family friends. They said rather unsavoury words about Rosmah from being ungrateful to being downright evil.
Rosmah could dignify all these allegations with a law suit or she can ignore it. She has denied RPK’s allegations and did not even lodge a police report. What did I tell you aboutclass?
Perhaps Malaysians aren’t ready for an outspoken, sharp shooting First Lady. The ones we previously had kept themselves in the background mostly, never upfront about what they thought about a political issue. That is after all, their husband’s duty.
However, like Singapore’s Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew said, Najib and Rosmah work as a team. If so, Rosmah’s actions, thoughts and words should carry as much weight as her husband’s.
This means the social cause of her choice will be given priority by the government. Her forte is on issues affecting children and this includes early childhood education, welfare and safety.
We should be thankful that she gives a damn about our children. Most politicians are too busy thinking about making money that they don’t care how screwed up our education system is and even worse, how bad security has become for our children. Her desire to uplift the lives for children across the country is like Najib’s quest to resolve our economic woes. What more could we ask for?
rosmah-mansor-with-people.pngImagine this: in her capacity, she can tell Education Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin to focus onproviding a better curriculum for our kids. She can even tell the Inspector General of Police Musa Hassan to buck up and ensure our schools are safe and make sure child-murder cases like Nurin Jazlin Jazimin’s does not ever happen again.
So much potential
Najib’s unity call for 1Malaysia surely must begin at home before being extended to the cabinet, the government, the civil service and to Malaysians in general. Therefore, she is not just a First Lady for Malays but a First Lady for all Malaysians regardless of race or creed.
I for one would love to see her embrace the 1Malaysia side of her. She would look absolutely radiant in a cheongsam or a saree when she attends the festive celebrations. She can be the first since I don’t recall any of our previous First Ladies ever doing so.
That would be a very bold move. It will capture the imagination of the entire nation to see Rosmah, an Umno member on all accounts, wearing a non-Malay cultural dress. It might not necessary translate to concrete reforms that Umno aspires to do but it is symbolic at least to prove Umno can reach out to non-Malays.
lady-diana-2.pngShe does not even need to swear on the Quran for anything. In fact, she can thumb her nose at Umno haters and opposition supporters to show that 1Malaysia runs in her very blood. Najib will be so proud. I would be too.
With that said, Rosmah has so much potential and much freedom to make lives and futures of Malaysians better. All she needs is a little encouragement from the rest of us Malaysians.
Who knows if one day, comparisons are drawn between her and the late Lady Diana Spencer, famous for her grace and generosity? While Diana has been immortalised in song as ‘England’s Rose’, Rosmah can be remembered as an ever blooming flower.
There is already an orchid in Singapore named in her honour, after all.

HE NAMED THE TWO OTHER INDIVIDUALS AS ONE ACTING COLONEL AZIZ BUYONG, WHO IS DESCRIBED AS ‘A C4 EXPERT’ AND THE LATTER’S WIFE, KNOWN ONLY AS NORHAYATI, WHO IS ALSO SAID TO BE ROSMAH’S AIDE DE CAMP.
‘A CRIME NOT TO REVEAL’
ALTANTUYA’S BODY IS ALLEGED TO HAVE BEEN BLOWN UP WITH C4 EXPLOSIVES AT A SECONDARY FOREST IN PUNCAK ALAM, SHAH ALAM. THE MURDER TRIAL IS CURRENTLY ONGOING AT THE SHAH ALAM HIGH COURT.
“MY INFORMER STATES THAT AZIZ WAS THE PERSON WHO PLACED THE C4 ON VARIOUS PARTS OF ALTANTUYA’S BODY WITNESSED BY ROSMAH AND NORHAYATI,” RAJA PETRA CLAIMED IN THE DOCUMENT.
“I MAKE THIS STATUTORY DECLARATION BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN RELIABLY INFORMED ABOUT THE INVOLVEMENT OF THESE THREE PEOPLE WHO HAVE THUS FAR NOT BEEN IMPLICATED IN THE MURDER NOR CALLED AS WITNESSES BY THE PROSECUTION IN THE ONGOING TRIAL AT THE SHAH ALAM HIGH COURT.
“I ALSO MAKE THIS STATUTORY DECLARATION BECAUSE I AM AWARE THAT IT IS A CRIME NOT TO REVEAL EVIDENCE THAT MAY HELP THE POLICE IN ITS INVESTIGATION OF THE CRIME,” READ THE DOCUMENT, WHICH WAS FIRST POSTED ON THEBIGDOGDOTCOM BLOG RUN BY ANOTHER BLOGGER.

STATUTORY DECLARATION
I, RAJA PETRA BIN RAJA KAMARUDIN (IC NO: 500927-71-5257), A MALAYSIAN CITIZEN OF LEGAL AGE RESIDING AT NO. 5, JALAN BRP 5/5, BUKIT RAHMAN PUTRA, 47000 SUNGAI BULOH, SELANGOR DARUL EHSAN, DO SOLEMNLY AND SINCERELY AFFIRM AND SAY AS FOLLOWS:-
1. I HAVE BEEN RELIABLY INFORMED THAT BETWEEN ABOUT 10 P.M. ON 19TH OCTOBER 2006 AND EARLY HOURS OF THE FOLLOWING DAY, THE NIGHT ALTANTUYA SHAARIIBUU WAS MURDERED, THREE (3) OTHER PEOPLE WERE ALSO PRESENT AT THE SCENE OF THE CRIME;
(A) DATIN SERI ROSMAH MANSOR, WIFE OF THE DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER OF MALAYSIA, DATO’ SERI NAJIB TUN RAZAK
(B) ACTING COLONEL AZIZ BUYONG (THEN LT. COL.) A C4 EXPERT
(C) ACTING COLONEL AZIZ’S WIFE, NORHAYATI (ONE OF ROSMAH’S ADC)
2. MY INFORMER STATES THAT ACTING COLONEL AZIZ BUYONG WAS THE PERSON WHO PLACED THE C4 ON VARIOUS PARTS OF ALTANTUYA’S BODY WHILE BEING WITNESSED BY DATIN SERI ROSMAH MANSOR AND NORHAYATI.
3. I MAKE THIS STATUTORY DECLARATION BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN RELIABLY INFORMED ABOUT THE INVOLVEMENT OF THESE THREE PEOPLE WHO HAVE THUS FAR NOT BEEN IMPLICATED IN THE MURDER NOR CALLED AS WITNESSES BY THE PROSECUTION IN THE ON GOING TRIAL AT THE SHAH ALAM HIGH COURT. I ALSO MAKE THIS STATUTORY DECLARATION BECAUSE I AM AWARE THAT IT IS A CRIME NOT TO REVEAL EVIDENCE THAT MAY HELP THE POLICE IN ITS INVESTIGATION OF THE CRIME.
4. I HAVE FURTHER BEEN RELIABLY INFORMED THAT PRIME MINISTER, DATO SERI ABDULLAH AHMAD BADAWI HAS RECEIVED A WRITTEN REPORT FROM THE MILITARY INTELLIGENCE CONFIRMING WHAT I HAVE REVEALED ABOVE AND THAT THE REPORT WAS SUBSEQUENTLY HANDED OVER TO HIS SON-IN-LAW, KHAIRY JAMALUDDIN, FOR SAFE-KEEPING.
5. I HAVE ALSO BEEN RELIABLY INFORMED THAT ONE OF THE RULERS HAS BEEN BRIEFED ABOUT THIS MATTER AND HIS HIGHNESS IS FULLY AWARE OF WHAT I HAVE REVEALED ABOVE.
6. I HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF WHO HAS INFORMED ME OF THIS MATTER PLUS I HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF THE RULER WHO HAS BEEN BRIEFED AND IS AWARE OF THE MATTER BUT I HAVE AGREED THAT I SHALL NOT REVEAL THIS INFORMATION OTHER THAN MENTION THAT THE PRIME MINISTER AND HIS SON-IN-LAW HAVE BEEN HANDED A WRITTEN REPORT CONFIRMING WHAT I HAVE REVEALED.
7. THE PURPOSE OF THIS STATUTORY DECLARATION IS TO URGE ALL THESE PARTIES WHO HAVE BEEN DULY INFORMED AND HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF THIS MATTER TO COME FORWARD TO REVEAL THE TRUTH SO THAT THE POLICE ARE ABLE TO CONDUCT A PROPER AND THOROUGH INVESTIGATION INTO THE MURDER OF ALTANTUYA SHAARIIBUU
