Najib vs Dr Mahathir Mohamad debate is on says UMNO general secretary Tengku Adnan

Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak has accepted Dr Mahathir Mohamad's debate challenge, and prove he's "not a liar".
A nation that cannot uphold its law cannot preserve its order. When  political analyst Abdul Razak Baginda and, former police commando Sirul Azhar Umar was smuggled out to safety, the authority of state abandoned the responsibility of state. Excuses, evasions and lies have shifted over 26 years; this central truth has not.Introspection will take us back to the beginning. Betrayal is impossible without trust. We did not trust Najib to be honest. We trusted our political class, and it continues to search for new and inventive ways to betray us again
.Too much messiness has found its way into the public domain. The belief that power is the only instrument of change legitimizes any and every mode of getting elected. How can we condone that, and then feel no revulsion over the way Altantuya Shaariibuu was murdered? How can we feel no necessity to explore the motives behind the heinous killing? ask Mahathir

some effort to highlight the importance of a public inquiry into her murder. It can reveal to us how the system of government operates, as well as how the police and our justice system will manage such cases — where there is some connection to top leaders—in future. Understanding what happened to Altantuya holds the key to understanding many things that are wrong with our country.the Registrar of the Court may be unwilling to explain why the first judge that was appointed to hear the Altantuya case was changed. But a retired Registrar somewhere may be willing to explain how judges are allotted to hear cases, under what circumstances they can be changed and by whom.
We can also call retired police officers who might be willing to volunteer other relevant information, such as when commandos like Azilah and Sirul are used. They can explain to us the chain of command and who the bosses are. We can also understand better how explosives like C4 are kept and who can authorise their use.
Let’s not forget the Immigration Department: we might be able to get retired immigration officers who are willing to explain under what circumstances immigration records can be deleted and who can make such an order.Sirul will volunteer, or that his lawyers will be able to enlighten us of the information his client will allow us to
the wife of private investigator P. Balasubramaniam knows a thing or two.
The fearless Amerikh, the late Bala’s lawyer, will also be eager to attend and can give some juicy tidbits about Tan Sri Cecil Abraham’s conversations with him.
Critics will say that this inquiry will only be able to unearth hearsay and double-hearsay. They will label it all rubbish speculation to a straightforward murder.
It’s true that such an inquiry may not reveal the whole truth or bring us any closer to know the motives or circumstances of Altantuya’s murder. But the inquiry is not aimed solely at discovering what happened to Altantuya; more importantly, it’s to show that the secrecy by which this government operates will not be tolerated by the people of this country.the wife of private investigator P. In his response, Najib questioned why  Dr Mahathir Mohamad resurrecting the case and implicating him in it.

"If they believe (the allegations about Najib’s involvement) to be true, why did they not raise it when the issue erupted eight years ago? Why now?" he asked.

He said it is "unfair" to ask the government to reinvestigate the case to find out who ordered the murder, when the judicial process had been exhausted.

Judge Segara asked the right question: “Why him? Is he the person to ask for help? How is he going to admonish her? The applicant should have gone to the Inspector-General of Police or the OCPD for protection. Anyway, he has got his own security. What’s his motive other than to get rid of her? So that he could sleep soundly after she disappears?.
Baginda said in his affidavit: “On Oct 20, a man, claiming to be a police officer, and two women came to my house. The man abused and threatened to harm my family. I went to lodge a police report on Oct 23″.
On Rosmah's order Razak Baginda said Police's culture is a secret hard to hide many people have inexplicably died in police custody.
Razak had also conveniently avoided saying why Najib, Najib's wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, Najib's brother Nazim Razak, carpet trader Deepak Jaikishin and a host of other personalities found it necessary to ensure Bala and his family left the country soon after the SD 1 was released.A straightforward murder? Did he say a straightforward murder? Would a straightforward murder need the use of C4? Is it normal for cops to kill people and then blow up their bodies with C4? Besides, where did Azilah and Sirul get their C4 from?
And weren't the two involved only because Abdul Razak had sought help from deputy superintendent Musa Safri, Prime Minister Najib Razak's former aide-de-camp, and this help was needed because he had had an affair with Altantuya and she was blackmailing him so he needed to get her off his back?
So, who is the focus of this murder? Who was the source of the problem that led to the murder?
And yet Abdul Razak can say, "Shit happens"? It was his shit that happened in the first place, and now he seems to be putting the sole blame on the hapless commandos and implying that they are "rogue cops". Is that funny or is that funny?

Sirul: Former police commando Sirul Azhar Umar is vexed for being handed the death sentence for following a directive.

Now that the suspense over Najib must step down as  immediately said Mahathir

The prosecution of the case has been tardy from the start, with the failure to establish the motive for Altantuya’s murder the most questionable of all. Through the case, the labored attempts by both prosecution and defence to obstruct the probe into any involvement of then defence minister were also most bewildering.
Who benefits from killing and blowing up an allegedly pregnant Mongolian woman? Who has the motive? Abdul Razak Baginda has suddenly become the mouse that roars. Why stay in England and make these comments? Return to Malaysia and vindicate yourself if you think that public perception is wrong.
Why was her immigration records deleted? During the trial, why did the prosecution and defence object to any question that touched on a political conspiracy, which the judge dutifully disallowed?
Ask anybody in the police force in private and they will swear that Sirul and Azilah Hadri did not go on a frolic of their own to kill Altantuya with C4 explosives but rather were told to do so by very powerful individuals.readmore Shafee prepared affidavit saved Razak Abdullah Baginda Based on the SMS exchanged with Najib
why is it no relevant?
The testimony of the former aide-de-camp of then deputy prime minister Najib Abdul Razak has "no relevance" to the prosecution of former Special Action Force (UTK) duo Azilah Hadri and Sirul Azhar Umar, attorney-general Abdul Gani Patail said today.

Razak Baginda was the close aide and adviser of PM Najib when Najib was the country’s Defence Minister. Altantuya and Razak Baginda were linked to Najib in the Scorpene Submarine Scandal that to this day still stained and haunts PM Najib’s premiership. MINDEF has taken steps to can any story on the Scorpene submarines that could not submerge and stay underwater.
WKK’s handling of Razak Baginda’s defence in the Altantuya murder case became controversial from the very beginning when Razak Baginda managed to get bail despite facing a murder charge. In an unprecedented step, WKK later filed a highly controversial affidavit in which explosive revelations were made, pointing the murderers to be two UTK officers, Chief Inspector Azilah Hadri and Corporal Sirul Azhar Umar. Eventually, these two UTK officers were found guilty of kidnapping and killing Altantuya while Razak Baginda was acquitted.
Upon his acquittal, Razak Baginda immediately announced that he was leaving the country to pursue further studies. That was a really absurd excuse for making an escape. Scholarship holders would tell you that if you default or dispute a PTPTN study loan, the Immigration Department would not hesitate to impound your passport and bar you from leaving the country. Here, a man summarily acquitted for murder while there could be an appeal, was allowed to leave the country. That was the greatest escapade aided and abetted by the A-G Chambers and the Immigration Department!
As a fait accompli, A-G Gani Patail announced that he, as the Public Prosecutor, would not be appealing against Razak Baginda’s acquittal. The A-G  gave the excuse that he  respected the court’s finding of fact to acquit Razak and thus would not pursue the case any further. This was clearly a travesty of justice!

Mahathir, in a scathing blog post on Thursday, asked who had directed the killing of Altantuya following Sirul’s claims that he was merely following orders and Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak had rubbished such latest allegations
WHAT IS HAPPENING? NO APPEAL FOR A MURDER CASE AND YET IN RAJA PETRA’S HABEAS CORPUS CASE, THE APPEAL IS MADE VERY QUICKLY. THE MALAYSIAN PUBLIC HAS THE RIGHT TO KNOW THE REASONS FOR THIS APPARENT DISCRIMINATION. MAYBE, RAZAK BAGINDA IS A CLOSE ASSOCIATE OF THE DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER, NAJIB TUN RAZAK, WHEREAS RAJA PETRA IS NAJIB’S STRONGEST CRITIC. IF NOT, WHAT ELSE?  PLEASE, DEPUTY PUBLIC PROSECUTOR TUN MAJID TUN HAMZAH, CAN YOU EXPLAIN?
Najib came to power promising minimum government, maximum governance. This was a liberal promise that appealed to voters driving the electoral wave that gave  Najib his historic mandate.  original promise with divisive social engineering bids. They seem more bothered about regulating what we eat, wear, watch and think than what they were voted in for: to make everybody’s lives easier. In his blog posting, the former prime minister said that instead of answering his simple questions, Najib was asking people to support him.
"I would like to ask the supporters whether their support means the disappearance of RM42 billion is okay, that there is no necessity to at least explain where the money is
"If you do, go tell Daim, Tengku Razaleigh, Shahrir Samad and Khairy Jamaluddin to shut up,” he said, referring to the several Umno politicians who had raised those issues before.
former Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his recent, although rather belated, queries in respect of the Altantuya Shaariibuu murder saga. These questions make sense. These are the same questions a very large portion of the Malaysian population has been asking for over eight years now (since 2006)
.DSP Musa Safri (above) (then aide de camp DPM Najib Razak) – What exactly did you tell Sirul and Azilah to do to that poor Mongolian lady and who exactly asked you to engage their services?
Nasir Safar (Najib’s special officer)  What were you doing driving around in front of Abdul Razak Baginda’s house on the evening of Oct 19, 2006, watching Azilah and Sirul abduct Altantuya?
PM Najib  Did you know that four of your staff were involved in this? If so, then why were they?
Deepak Jaikishan (businessman with close ties to Najib’s wife, Rosmah Mansor  Who asked you to shut private eye P Balasubramaniam up and get him and his family out of Malaysia immediately after he released SD1 (first statutory declaration)? (This should be easy as Deepak has already confessed to all of this).
Rosmah – Was it you? If not, then who?

Given all this background, is it surprising that people still believe that the whole truth has yet to be revealed? The murderers have been convicted. But this case is not yet over. People want to know, who ordered the "hit" on Altantuya.
It is time for the police to visit Musa, and see what he has to say. But perhaps they already did, eight years ago, during their investigation of the murder.
In his remarks to Malaysiakini on Sunday, inspector-general of police (IGP) Khalid Abu Bakar added to the intrigue. He said that it is standard procedure in murder investigations to cover all angles, including establishing the reasons behind the action and securing the necessary evidence for a prosecution.
Khalid said that information is "recorded in the Investigation Papers which are submitted to the Attorney-General's Chambers for further action." He stressed that it was not the police's role to question the prosecutor or courts for not delving into the motive during the hearing process.
The question therefore is whether the police interrogated Musa and others in the DPM's office eight years ago, and if they did, what information they passed on to the AG's Chambers. After all, Khalid said that it is standard procedure in murder investigations to "cover all angles."
The prosecution, as we know, never called Musa as a witness, claiming that his testimony was not necessary. Yet the Court of Appeal unanimously concluded that Musa's testimony indeed was essential to the narrative upon which the prosecution's case was based.
The court ruled that "the failure of the prosecution to call or offer Musa for cross-examination... would have triggered adverse inference... against the prosecution."
In this case, adverse inference means that a reasonable person could infer that the prosecution would have produced Musa if his testimony would have been supportive of their position that these two acted alone. But because they did not call him, it could mean that his testimony would not have supported their case.
The prosecution, it could be inferred, did not want Musa to be subject to cross-examination by Azilah's and Sirul's attorneys because his testimony might have undercut and been adverse to the prosecution's case.
No matter what Razak says, this is not an open-and-shut case. There are too many unanswered question
The established facts
Azilah Hadri and Sirul have been convicted of the murder of Altantuya by the highest court in our land. This has therefore been proved beyond a reasonable doubt.
In the circumstances, there can be no question that these two gentlemen were in fact responsible for lodging two bullets in this poor lady’s head and thereafter detonating some military grade explosives placed on her body causing it to be dissipated in the vicinity of some secondary jungle on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur.
Sirul, who has, rather astutely, sought refuge at the Villawood detention centre on the outskirts of Sydney, has candidly admitted he was acting under orders and that he has been made a scapegoat for others who had not been brought to court. In other words, he has tacitly admitted to the crime and confirmed that there may have been others behind it.The question is why would Sirul and Azilah (above) have done this for no apparent reason? The courts have been interested only in whether an offence of murder had been committed and not why it was committed.
The prosecution failed to seek or put forth an explanation. This is really the question which the IGP can provide an answer to if he is so inclined. He certainly has the resources. As long as he possesses the will, he most certainly will find the way.
Khalid, for goodness sake, please, just do your job. At the moment the general public perceive inactivity on your part as yet another ubiquitous and notorious Malaysian cover-up.May I suggest you simply haul up the following characters and ask them these simple questions:
Azilah – Why did you and Sirul kill someone you didn’t even know?
Johari Razak (Najib’s younger brother) – Did you telephone senior lawyer Cecil Abraham on the evening of July 3, 2008 and ask him to prepare SD2 for Balasubramaniam to sign? If so why, and on whose behalf?
Cecil – Did you receive a telephone call from Johari Razak on July 3, 2008 to prepare SD2? If so, did you?
Sunil Abraham- (Cecil’s son, who is also a lawyer) – Did you or did you not, assist your father in preparing SD2 and did you then personally deliver it to the Hilton Hotel, KL Sentral on the morning of July 4, 2008?

Despite the press releases being launched from the IGP's office, none of them detract from the fact that convicted murderer Sirul Azhar Umar has categorically said no officer from the Polis Di-Raja Malaysia (PDRM) has visited him in Sydney to interview him.
Zainal Abidin Muhayat – Were you a commissioner for oaths in 2008 and did you have your office at Zul Rafique and Partners, Lorong P Ramlee, Kuala Lumpur? If so, who sent you to the Hilton Hotel, KL Sentral on July 4, 2008 to attest the signature of one Balasubramaniam on SD2?
Nazim Razak (another brother of Najib) – Were you and your wife at the Curve, Mutiara Damansara late in the night of July 3, 2008? If so did you meet one Balasubramaniam  next to the VW showroom?
And if so, did you or did you not, threaten Balasubramaniam to follow the instructions of one Deepak Jaikishan and leave the country with his family immediately, otherwise his family’s safety could not be guaranteed?
Najib – Did you instruct Johari and Nazim to arrange, respectively, for SD2 to be prepared and Balasubramaniam’s subsequent departure from Malaysia? If so, why was that necessary?
Hamzah Zainuddin (UMNO MP for Larut) – Did you, in 2011, offer Balasubramaniam safe passage back to this country and a cash inducement if he pleaded guilty to affirming a false statutory declaration (SD1). If so, why and on behalf of whom?
Khalid, may I also suggest that you contact a senior investigation officer from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) by the name of Abdul Rahman Bachok. He is a very diligent officer and has the entire file on investigations into the circumstances under which Balasubramaniam affirmed SD2. I am sure he will lend you his file and assist you in any way he can.
I believe he is a little annoyed that his file has been closed by the Attorney-General’s Chambers. He had put a lot of effort into his investigations.
You may also care to contact the Brickfields Police Station and ask them why they have not followed up on the Police report I lodged on July 8, 2008 in respect of Balasubramaniam’s disappearance. I have sent them reminders but there has been no response.
All the above ‘persons of interest’ and their answers to the questions posed may possibly assist in revealing a motive for the crime. Is there any reason why you, Mr IGP would be disinclined to pursue the matter further and if so what are those reasons?
