Is Selangor a false democracy or a Monarchy

Pas may swing left and right but at the end, PAS shows its true colours.

Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah has been dragged into the current saga in Selangor by those who claim that I have misled and lied to him," Khalid said in a statement posted on state government portal Selangorku
Recalcitrant a pathological liar lying to the Sultan Khalid’s situation is prime material for students of political science. It is not every day that a sitting Menteri Besar finds himself ditched by the very party that had put up his name in the first place. Khalid is still Menteri Besar until and unless he is chased out from office by the Head of State, that is, HRH Sultan of Selangor. The Sultan is acting according to the Constitution. He can only call for assembly seating if MB advise so. Tuanku cannot overstep his role or else he would be accuse of playing politics.
Be true to your self Khalid Ibrahim should call a Special Assembly Session, but he won’t for selfish reasons
The sultan would look very foolish if suddenly PAS withdraws their support for Khalid. He should ask Khalid to prove his assertion that he has majority Khalid Ibrahim is certainly extending his luck way too far. With the Sultan's consent to remain as MB, Khalid is virtually in a state of delirium, and is further emboldened like a lunatic running amok out of an asylum! Behaving and acting as if he is now unassailable and invincible .. began to show his true colour to ALL Selangorians who voted him in. The moment is nigh for DAP and PKR to consolidate; take whatever necessary legal recourse to remove or evict this ingrate for good.

How decitful for Hadi to seek audience from his royal highness when in ordinary man,s eyes it appears to be wrong..what will the courts decide if it is taken to court. PAS’s action in nominating a second name for the Menteri Besar’s post has created an avenue for the Selangor Palace to wade into the state’s messy politics.PAS has wittingly or unwittingly put the Sultan in the delicate position of having to accept either candidate against the provisions of the State Constitution, or go against the majority of the legislative assembly and, by extension, the rakyat. To circumvent the Hobson’s choice above by a dissolution of the legislature would be most unpopular as the house is still overwhelmingly dominated by Pakatan Rakyat, unlike the hung Perak State Assembly in 2009. Even then the house was not dissolved.
The issue  before us is whether the discretion to appoint Dato Seri  Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail is still with HRH Tuanku Sultan of Selangor. University of Malaya Law Professor Gurdial Singh Nijhar says that HRH has little choice but to appoint her as the new Menteri Besar since she commands the support of 43 out of the 56 members of Dewan Undangan Negeri (State Legislative Assembly) in accordance with Article 53(2)(a) of the Constitution of the State of Selangor.
To complicate matters even more, Section 53.4 of the State Constitution states that, “In appointing a Menteri Besar, His Highness may in his discretion dispense with any provision in this Constitution restricting his choice of a Menteri Besar, if in his opinion it is necessary to do so in order to comply with the provisions of this Article.”.The Selangor Sultan if he appoint PAS Iskandar Samad  If PAS accept this post then PAS will have to get used to the fact that it will be called a party that breaks its promises. -blatant disregard of the constitution now suggests backed and encouraged by Najib who most probably has promised him a big reward.Democracy could easily become an instrument of a regressive past, intent on maintaining status quo, and a political process that is deeply expedient would find no reason to challenge this. On the other hand, it could remain theoretically wedded to ideas that show no relationship with the aspirations of people, and would find that the electoral process would either render these irrelevant or corrupted in the hands of a cynical political process.
Muhammad Munir also said that the Sultan retains “absolute discretion” to appoint a new MB that he feels obtains the majority support of the state assembly. Asked why he did not ask for dissolution, Khalid told reporters that he felt that his resignation was the best solution to the crisis because the issue in Selangor is about the majority not wanting him to be MB.”The intention is not to have me as MB, so if I am no longer the MB there is no need (for state assembly dissolution or emergency sitting). Why are we going around in circles? If their intention is to change the MB, there are many ways and I want the best way,” he said.

HRH Tuanku Sultan of Selangor. must nevertheless be very careful to uphold the state constitution and who it says qualifies to be the menteri besar.
The Nizar decision in the Perak case in 2009 says the palace must appoint an MB who enjoys the majority. That requires the sultan to ascertain that appointing someone who may not ultimately enjoy the majority means there is a risk the new MB will face a motion of no confidence when the state assembly meets.
As it is, Khalid does not command the majority and has to tender his resignation which he subsequently did. His successor must have the command of the majority, and if not, there will be a repeat of the current impasse.
All Malaysians must be careful not to set any precedent that does not accord with best practices under the constitution, the supreme law of the nation. It has always been the one who can show proof of majority that becomes the head of government in the state or nation.wish to add some salt to Hadi's wound. First and foremost, if your Deputy already sat down with PKR and DAP to discuss this issue and already came to a mutual agreement, please do not smack your Deputy's face by objecting. If your Deputy has no business to agree in the first instance, that is your internal affair. If so, you HADI kindly inform your people including your partners in advance... in which case, you can also consider to do away with this Deputy post. Lastly, why add one more name to the nomination? It is just a useless act of face-saving. Do you honestly think you really have any face left to save? PKR and DAP already nominated Kak Wan as MB. Are they going to change their stance just because you proposed another one more name? Remember, it eventually boils down to a majority decision. For the sake of good Malaysians, please do not repeat this stupid mistake again, not even as a "tit-for-tat" on PAS by PKR and/or DAP!PAS will never be trusted by non Malays anymore. Whatever trust the Chinese had for PAS has all gone to dog. Never, ever non Malays will ever trust PAS. PAS stupid, selfish and greedy for power. Never in the power sharing business. Why is this PAS playing this wayang kulit. Is it worth it. Damage has already be done. This damage will never be repaired or undone. There will be a lot of scar tissue. What a grave stupidity by the stupid old man Hadi Awang. He should be replaced by PAS grassroots. That is the only way damage can be undone. There is no other way.

One of the two PAS Selangor legislators who were accused by Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang of giving in to “brokers and pimps” has challenged the party president to produce evidence that he had been bought to support PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail for the Selangor mentri besar post.
The Star Online reported today that Saari Sungib, who is Hulu Kelang assemblyman, clarified he signed the statutory declaration (SD) supporting Dr Wan Azizah in order to deny the current Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim the chance to cause further damage to the state.
It reported Saari as saying that Khalid claimed he had the majority support, and had started sacking executive council members, without consulting any of the state assemblymen if they supported him.
“The aim was to deny Khalid. However, the lawyers explained that the state assemblymen need to support another candidate in order to legitimise the SD, so we supported Dr Wan Azizah because PKR and DAP had agreed to her nomination,” Saari was quoted as saying by the portal.
He said his only wrongdoing was to help safeguard Pakatan Rakyat’s grip on Selangor, and criticised PAS for allowing its members to revile and insult him without knowing the full story, The Star reported.
Saari took umbrage at the Islamic scholars in PAS allowing a motion to condemn him, which he said constituted punishment before trial.
Even the permanent chairman did not intervene when a delegate prayed for God’s wrath upon him at the PAS Muktamar last week, Saari said in the report.
“This is very shameful to the party,” he was quoted as saying.
Hadi had in his winding-up speech yesterday berated Saari and Hasnul Baharuddin, the PAS assemblyman for Morib, for signing statutory declarations in support of Dr Wan Azizah.
Hadi and the PAS Dewan Ulamak have publicly disagreed with the choice of Dr Wan Azizah to replace Khalid.
With the support of Saari and Hasnul, Dr Wan Azizah has the backing of 30 of the 56 members in the Selangor legislative assembly.
However, the Selangor palace is expected to announce someone else for the appointment of new mentri besar tomorrow, with the swearing-in scheduled for
Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail  continued by saying, "One widely held hypothesis is that our country suffers from want of a 'few good men' in politics. This view is unfair to the many upstanding people in politics. But even assuming it is true, every so often we see the emergence of a group, usually upper middle class professionals, who want to clean up politics. But when these 'good' people stand for election, they tend to lose their deposits. Does the electorate really not want squeaky clean government Apart from the conceit that high morals lie only with the upper middle class, the error in this hypothesis may be in believing that problems stem from individual ethics rather than the system we have the tolerance for the venal politician is because he is the crutch that helps the poor and underprivileged navigate a system that gives them so little access. This may be why Abdul Khalid Ibrahim  survives."

In electoral science, statistics are illustrative, interpretation is critical and everything is fluid. Politics is evolutionary, and evolution - even Darwin’s - is a theory, not a fact. No election is an echo of the past, let alone a mirror of the future readmore PKR president enemies within dwindling critics were stirred by the seemingly growing support
